Asymmetrical Eyes (Heterochromia)

Eyes that clearly differ in shape, size, pupil structure, or iris color.

Eyes are the windows to the soul... and often the dead giveaway of a bot. While nobody's face is perfectly symmetrical, our eyes are usually a matched set. AI generators often mess this up, treating each eye as a separate project.

The Disconnect

The model knows "this needs to be an eye," but it doesn't strictly enforce "this left eye must match that right eye." So you end up with one blue eye and one green one, or different pupil shapes, just because the AI didn't check its notes.

Specific Glitches

Pupil Weirdness: Real pupils are round. AI pupils? Often jagged, hexagonal, or bleeding ink into the iris.

Texture: A real iris has complex muscle structure. AI eyes often look like blurry paint or simple radial lines.

Eyelashes: Watch for lashes that grow *from* the eyeball or merge directly into the skin. Nasty.

Top-tier models like Flux are fixing this, but if you see wonky pupils, it's definitely not human.

Common Manifestations

The Shape-Shifter: One eye is almond-shaped with thick lashes, while the other is rounder with sparse lashes, giving the face a Picasso-esque distortion.

Bleeding Pupils: The black pupil isn't a perfect circle; it looks like ink that has run or dripped into the colored iris.

How to Spot It

  • 1
Zoom in specifically on the pupils. Are they perfectly round?
  • 2
Check if the eye colors match exactly (unless the person actually has heterochromia).
  • 3
Look for "melting" eyelids or tear ducts that look painted on.
