Background Incoherence
Background elements that are blurry, warped, or architecturally impossible.
Photographers blur the background to focus on the subject. AI blurs the background because it's lazy. It knows the background *should* be out of focus, so it just draws a mess of shapes that don't make sense.
The "Dream Room"
Look behind the person. Does that staircase lead anywhere? Is that door 3 feet tall? Are the people in the crowd just faceless blobs of meat?
Depth Checks
In a real photo, everything at the same distance should have the same blur. In AI, you might see a sharp chair next to a blurry wall, even though they're right next to each other. That's physically impossible.
Common Manifestations
The Staircase to Nowhere: A fancy ballroom background where a grand staircase curves up but melts into a wall or ceiling with no exit.
Faceless Crowds: A street scene where the people in the distance don't just lose detail (normal), but become horrifying blobs of flesh with no eyes or mouths.
How to Spot It

- 3Are background people deformed or missing faces?
