Melted or Extra Fingers
Hands with too many digits, missing knuckles, or impossible joints.
Ah, hands. The internet's favorite joke about AI. Why is it so hard? Because hands are weirdly complex—they can make a fist, point, wave, or hold a cup. To an AI, a "hand" is just a confusing cloud of flesh-colored tubes.
Logic Failure
The AI doesn't know you have five rigid fingers connected to a palm. It just predicts "finger-like shapes" at the end of an arm. If the math says "put a finger here," it does. If it says "put another one here," well, now you have six fingers.
The Signs
Missing Knuckles: AI fingers often look like smooth sausages. Real fingers have wrinkles, joints, and bumps.
Impossible Joints: Watch for fingers that bend backwards or are way too long.
The Blob: Often the wrist just melts into the palm with no clear bone structure.
If the hand looks like it's made of warm wax or has too many digits, it's AI. Period.
Common Manifestations
The 7-Fingerwave: A politician waving to a crowd, but a quick count reveals 6 or 7 fingers on the raised hand.
The Coffee Cup Merge: Fingers holding a mug that seem to fuse *into* the ceramic handle rather than wrapping around it.
How to Spot It
- 1Count the fingers explicitly. Do not assume there are five.
- 2Look at the length of the fingers relative to the palm.
- 3Check fingernails—they are often missing, oddly shaped, or facing the wrong way.
